RYLEY’S PULL LIST 11/16/11 - MARVEL COMICS
- AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #674 - Spider Island is over and now the Vulture is back. Why is he back? Who knows, but he’s old, and he’s a classic villain, and Dan Slott is writing, and you know you want to read it.
- CAPTAIN AMERICA #4 - Cap’s kind of stuck in this nightmare world right now… and if that sounds ridiculous, then that’s okay because it totally is. But as comic readers know, ridiculous usually means awesome, and that’s definitely true here. I mean, he’s tied to a bomb on the cover. That’s awesome in and of itself.
- FEAR ITSELF #7.3 - Fear Itself kind of sucked, but 7.1 was great and 7.2 was pretty good. Hopefully 7.3 follows suit and delivers a nice bridge between the end of the event and the next arc of Invincible Iron Man where the Mandarin makes his big return.
- INCREDIBLE HULK #2 - Stop. Look at the cover for this up there. It’s Hulk punching a gamma shark. Go buy it.
- PUNISHER #5 - I don’t have a ton to say here, but Greg Rucka is writing a great Punisher. The tone of the series is a bit different from other Punisher books, but it’s one that works greatly. Read this book, I insist.
- THUNDERBOLTS #165 - So half of the team is stuck in the past trying to fight a war they shouldn’t be in because it’ll affect their own futures, and the other half is back in the present… trying to figure out what’s happening. In short: this arc is awesome as hell and it makes me happy to be reading this book.
- VENOM #9 - Flash’s dad died, and now that Spider Island is over he can finally sit down and grieve about it. However, it won’t be that simple being that this is a super hero book about Venom. Plus, he’ll soon be fighting against Captain America. In the snow. Which for some reason makes it cooler.
